canola oil
Harkola is a distributor for Canola oil. We supply all the major brands including Crisco & Pacific Star. We stock 20L, 4L, 1L sizes. Its best use is for frying, baking and salad dressings. It is produced using rapeseed.
corn oil.
Harkola stocks corn oil in 3L and 20L drums. It is used for frying, baking, salad dressings, margarines and shortening oils. Corn oil is oil extracted from the germ of corn. Its main use is in cooking where its high smoke point makes refined corn oil a valuable frying oil for cafes, takeaways and restaurants.
ghee clarified butter
Harkola distributes ghee clarified butter from 500g to 16kg. We sell it to to cafes, restaurants and stores around Australia. Ghee is a class of clarified butter. It originated in ancient India and is commonly used in South Asian, Iranian and Arabic cuisines. It adds a nice taste to food. Who dose not love butter! It can also be produced from vegetable oil, sunflower oil and canola oils. Its mainly used for deep frying, baking sautéing, condiments. The texture colour and taste of ghee will depend on the quality of the butter or oils used.
olive oil & extra virgin olive oil.
Olive oil is a fat that is produced by pressing whole olives obtained from the traditional olive tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin. It is commonly used in cooking, whether for frying or as a salad dressing. Harkola distributes olive oil to shops cafes and restaurants around Australia from 5L to 500ml table size. Harkola imports Cortas, which produces one of the best extra virgin olive oil which is cold pressed.
cotton seed oil
Cottonseed oil is a cooking oil extracted from the seeds of cotton plants. It’s used for margarine, shortening, salad dressings, commercially fried products. Harkola is a distributer of imported specialty cotton seed oil across Australia. Once processed, cottonseed oil has a mild taste and appears generally clear with a light golden colour. The amount of colour will depend on the amount of refining.

Harkola supplies shortening oil in 25kg drums. Shorting oil is used in baking due to its high elastic temperatures that are extremely useful for pastry chefs, deli’s, restaurants. Cafes producing their own products can use Shortening oil. Solid at room temperature and used to make crumbly pastry and other food products. Shortening is also used in pastries.
