Lebanese ingredients! Lebanese Pizza
First of all, who does not love pizza on Friday night, I’ve personally eaten it for my entire adult life! However, since covid, I’ve been making more stuff at home. Coming from Ireland originally I was fortunate enough to make so many amazing Lebanese friends.
Before long you’ll end up eating with them, and you’ll soon discover that their cuisine and hospitality are a lot like my Irish upbringing, we love to share great food cook for each other eat drink and have a few laughs.
Inspired by Harkola‘s amazing middle eastern ingredients here is what I did to shake up that age-old Italian recipe. I’ve been buying healthier products, and in case you are one of the people who have not heard about Harkola, it is a treasure chest of brands and products from Lebanon and the middle east.
ohhhh wow! Italian Pizza is history
On my list this week I had a few of my favourites online buys, but one thing took my creative side to a whole new level and its a product called Harissa, which is a spice smokey red pepper sauce.
Let me be clear, I’m no chef and I’m not advanced enough to make my pizza base yet. So I just bought some ready-made pizza bases.
Irish Love! Twist
I added the Harrisa to the bases rather than tomato sauce, sprinkled pizza cheese and thinly sliced red onion. I had some mushrooms, snow peas and chorizo just leftovers, but you can add anything really you have that you like. Obviously, if your a Vego or Muslim or don’t like something I said you could skip the chorizo or add chicken or beef.
I guess somethings just belong together friends, great food and shared ingredients.
